Advice to My Younger Self

Updated: Sep 22, 2021

Last night I had the pleasure of speaking at the Coventry University Investment Society Women in Business Summit.

It got me really thinking, what advice would I give to my younger self.... what would be yours?

1. Get clear on what YOU want

Understand your values, your priorities, what matters to YOU. NOT what your parents want, what society expects, what you religion dictates.... start getting to know yourslef NOW. It’s the best investment you can make.

Start with Vishen Lakhianis Codex of The Extraordinary Mind and @dr john The Values Factor

2. Work on your #mindset at least as much as you work at your job.

If you optimise your mindset and vibration, it makes the job / work MUCH easier!

3. Self awareness.

Understand your programming. It’s unavoidable - we are conditioned by our parents, society, religion etc from the minute we’re born. Some even believe we are not born as blank slates as babies, that we come into this world predisposed for certain behaviour or talents.

Do you know for example...

🤔 What’s your attachment style?

🤔 Are you an ENTP or an ISFJ?

🤔 Are you a Creator or Lord?

4. Get a sponsor / mentor

Someone has trodden the path you want to take, who are they, how did they do it?

Learn from them and improve, do it YOUR way. We all stand on the shoulders of giants.

5. Don’t take yourself too seriously - have FUN!
